Ignorance Is Bliss

Looks as though my husband, like my best friend, doesn't read my blog either, judging from the conversation we had on Saturday afternoon:

"Oh, man, I still have to make something for dinner," I said to Larry.

"Can't we do leftovers?" he asked.

"All that's left over is a couple of ravioli and some egg salad. It's not enough."

(Larry, looking confused) "But...the fridge is full."

Sigh. All those condiments and expired foodstuffs have to go somewhere, you know.

  1. I'm pretty sure it's a good thing that my husband usually doesn't read my blog. If he did, he might find out that I just ate a 9.5 ounce bag of Dove milk chocolate hearts while I procrastinate on the church newsletter.

  3. Ya know... sometimes that can be a good thing. Safe ranting space - free therapy, etc. :)

  4. My husband does not read my blog either. I'm pretty certain the two teenagers do however.

  5. Thank God my husband doesn't read my blog! He is my main source of laughs! At least, I don't think he does since he's never objected to any of the times he was the star of the pony show.

My husband calls our vegetable drawers, The Rotter. So succinct. We too, have many bottles of salsa. My oldest, aka The Hurricane, for the path of destruction she leaves in her path, is a great lover of salsa. I'm pretty sure she just opens up a new jar every time she wants some. Looking for the opened jars in the fridge would take a modicum of effort. And that's just wrong in her world.

  6. It's been a while since I've cleaned out the fridge. The kids are now complaining that they can't fit anything new in there anymore.
Of course it's not like they would actually go through and throw out all the stupid stuff that they leave in there.
Like the large bowl with two tablespoons full of leftover chicken salad in it.
Or the half full gogurt that was left in the door of the fridge, which is now mostly empty due to the fact that someone sat the milk on top of it.

I like the idea of making him some salad dressing stew for dinner. Or what about a ketchup, mustard and salsa salad?

  8. My hubby doesn't read mine either. LOL, that your hubby doesn't realize that all you have is condiments.

  11. Men truly are from Mars. Sounds exactly like having a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear :(

  12. Perhaps he'd like to root around for leftovers--and maybe throw a few things away in the process.

  13. Maybe it's better this way...he'll be blinded by all the food in the fridge and unable to notice where you stashed the emergency chocolates in the pantry!
